Kristen Wiig and Seth Rogan Top Off Lineup of "Arrested Development" Guest Stars

Dear Seth Rogan and Kristen Wiig,

Thank You.

Sincerely,
Everyone, ever.

The Arrested Development reboot already has some amazing guest stars lined up, now we can expect comedy heavy hitters Kristen Wiig and Seth Rogan to join the ensemble.  WUT?!

(Via ScreenRant)
Netflix has confirmed that Kristen Wiig and Seth Rogen have signed on for guest spots on the show. There’s currently no word on what character Rogen will be playing (though we wouldn’t be surprised if he were cast as a young George/Oscar Bluth), but Vulture reports that Wiig will appear as none other than the young Lucille Bluth (Jessica Walter).

I can only imagine that Seth Rogan will play a young George Bluth.  Although announcing the two at the same time seems TOO logical... Right?

It’s not clear how much of a role “young Lucille” will play in the show, but Wiig is likely to make the most of whatever screen time she receives. Besides, the current plan, according to creator Mitch Hurwitz, remains to follow up the upcoming slate of episodes with a theatrical adventure for the Bluth family. So there’s always the potential for Wiig’s role to be expanded down the line, should fans respond.

What about a spinoff?!? Parks and Rec a'la the Office, anyone? Awesome...

Daleks Invade London for 'Doctor Who' Special

Downtown London got a heaping helping of Doctor Who villainry this past Sunday as filming for the 50th anniversary brought everyone's favorite extermination afficianados, the Daleks, to Westminster bridge.

(Via Radio Times)

Just after dawn on Sunday morning, Westminster Bridge fell eerily silent as a classic moment from the 1964 Doctor Who serial The Dalek Invasion of Earth was brought back to life.

Mark Gatiss and the production crew of An Adventure in Space and Time (the upcoming drama about the birth of Doctor Who) were standing by on a misty South Bank as, around 7am, a mysterious red van pulled up at the kerb – and four pristine Daleks emerged.

Remember, Vote No on Daleks!  Avoid extermination by checking out the newest Doctor Who tees at the RJ store!

Doctor Who 50th Anniversary in 3D

"Technology has finally caught up with Doctor Who."  My new favorite quote from Doctor Who showrunner Stevan Moffat.  That's right.  This year, Doctor Who will be celebrating its 50th anniversary with a special 3D episode.  Whovian's rejoice!

(Via Mashable)

Any other details of the 3D episode aren't known, though presumably it will star current series regulars Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman. The BBC says broadcasting in 3D will require using "some of the BBC's HD capacity."

Other than that, there's still very little that's known about the 50th anniversary episode.  We've heard that there's a possibility of previous Doctors coming together, which I can safely say will be the best thing in the history of ever.

Smith, who plays the Doctor, spoke to Mashable last year about his broad expectations for the 50th anniversary of the show, and implied at the time that there may be some special guest stars from the show's rich history.

"If we could mark the history of the show with previous Doctors, previous companions, previous showrunners — and if we can honor that for the fans now and celebrate the future — it's going to be a very exciting year for Doctor Who," he said. "In more than one way, it won't be just a televised event. It'll be a live event. I feel very pleased to be a part of it."

In other news, I am now in the market for a 3D TV.

While the actual 50th anniversary of Doctor Who is this November, a date for the premiere has not been announced. Doctor Who season 7 returns this spring.  You'll find a whole mess of Doctor Who freshness at the RJ Store.

Monty Python in the New Film, "Absolutely Anything"

Monty Python fans will be psyched to hear John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Michael Palin and Terry Jones will reunite for "Absolutely Anything," releasing sometime next year.  It's been made clear that the film is not being touted as A Monty Python Production, however director Terry Jones exclaims, "it has that sensibility." Whatever that means.

(Via CraveOnline.com)

Absolutely Anything will combine live-action and CGI, and also feature the voice talents of Robin Williams. (An offer is out to Eric Idle, who previously declined to work on the recent animated feature "A Liar's Autobiography" with the rest of the team). The film centers around a group of aliens, played by the Pythons, who bestow upon one human being the power to do, well, "absolutely anything," just to see what happens. Naturally, comedic hijinks ensue. Robin Williams will play a talking dog.

So, it's not exactly what we've all been hoping for - it's a start, though.  We can really start celebrating when Eric Idle signs on. Regardless, I'm stoked!  Filming begins this spring.

Better start practicing your silly walk, and in the meantime check out some fresh Monty Python tees at the RJ store

Joss Whedon Toys with Emotions, Talks Firefly Revival

Sure, this may be brought up like once a year but it's still fun to report on (and dream about.) Joss Whedon has expressed interest in reviving the Firefly series!  Woot!

(Via Huff Post)

"I'll never really accept it," Whedon told the Toronto Sun about "Firefly." "And I always, in the back of my head, think, 'What if I could get the old gang back together? ... It's something I would love to do."

You and me both, Joss... You and me both.

However, there's a lot on Whedon's plate. Currently, the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" creator is helming the pilot for ABC's "S.H.I.E.L.D." TV series set in "The Avengers" movie universe. After that? "The Avengers 2," which he's attached to write and direct.

So it seems it'll be a while for something to happen, if anything.  It's still nice to see that Joss has a soft spot in his heart for everyone's favorite 10 episode sci-fi series.

IF Firefly does return you'll look like a big damn hero stocking some of the freshest Firefly tees available. Check 'em at the RJ Store.
